Flow-Rite Inc. designs and installs pallet flow rack systems.
Flow Through Pallets are placed on rollers that slope toward the pick face. The advantage of gravity fed is that pick faces are automatically replenished. A braking system controls pallet speed ensuring pallets safely flow down the lanes.
Pallet flow through racking is normally serviced by forklift trucks. Trucks do not enter the rack.
The pick and replenishment sides are separate. Pallets are fed in from one side, and retrieved from the opposite side eliminating double handling from the receiving area. Speed of throughput combined with automatic stock rotation is the major advantage of this system.
First In, First Out (FIFO) is guaranteed ensuring automatic stock rotation. Stored goods with expiration dates or product batches are easily controlled. Pallet Flow Racking Systems can be used as buffer storage in shipping areas, production, goods reception and dispatch.
Very high density storage achieved especially when there are few SKU’s and high number of pallets. There can be up to 12 pallets in each bay.
Advantages of Pallet Flow Racking Systems
Specially constructed lanes of gravity inclined tracks stacked side by side and on top of each other within a pallet rack framework form a solid block of storage that is fed in from one end and unloaded at the other. Consistent loads are stored in each lane, for the same SKU. Automatic rotation is provided. Rack utilization is often at 90%.
Very dense storage achieved especially when few SKU’s and high number of pallets- FIFO guaranteed, ideal for products with shelf life or absolute rotation
- Secure and safe handling as the pallet truck does not enter the rack
- Stable loads and constant, high quantity pallet mandatory
- Wide range of pallets can be accommodated at the design stage
